ScanRobot® and Nainuwa™ at C²DH
New and high end technology for the handling of huge amount of data.
Where and what is the C²DH?
“The University of Luxembourg aspires to be one of Europe’s most highly regarded universities with a distinctly international, multilingual and interdisciplinary character. [...]” (Beginning of the University of Luxembourg’s vision statement)
One of these building blocks is the new Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) of the University of Luxemburg that is using the automatic book scanner ScanRobot® 2.0MDS and the digital library Nainuwa™ from Treventus for its research.
ScanRobot® and Nainuwa™ for new concepts for massive data handling
Aim of the C²DH is to connect history and digital age. As more and more content is digitally available new technologies are needed to handle that huge amount of data. For this reason both, the ScanRobot® 2.0MDS and Nainuwa™ are used and it is analysed how such technology helps and supports the users.
In the centre the ScanRobot® is used for the scanning of books and documents for the research of C²DH and also to better understand the process of book-digitization and all invloved parts.
Nainuwa™ is used to search within and browse through the digital content and to support new ways of research.
